“Education is a natural process carried out by the child and is not acquired by listening to words but by experiences in the environment”
— Dr. Maria Montessori
STERLING’S REOPENING UPDATE
Thank you for completing the Learning Track Questionnaire. Administration will be working over the next several weeks to organize any classroom shifts based on how many will be in the Distance Learning Track and how many will be in the Blended Learning Track. We will re-evaluate Sterling’s readiness for a full-time return for those in the Blended Learning Track during the February board meeting. Thank you for your patience and understanding through this process.
STOLEN STERLING STINGRAY SCAVENGER HUNT FUNDRAISER!
We wish the Sterling community could be together this Halloween. We will miss watching the parade of costumed students from Children's House walk around campus. We will miss Trick-or-Treat with our friends. But there is something we can do together, while staying safely apart. Join us for the Stolen Sterling Stingray Scavenger Hunt and FUNdraiser. Spend a few hours with your family in the Parks and Greenways of Morrisville hunting for clues and solving puzzles. Our goal is to raise $3,000, which means 300 entries!! The entire Sterling community including students, parents, siblings and even our teachers and administrators can pitch in to help save our stingray!
This is a chance to exercise your body and your brain all while supporting the school. Puzzles include topics like spelling, code breaking, symmetry and some simple fractions. Even our youngest students can be involved by helping find the clues and solving the puzzles, with a little help from their family.
We want to see your smiling faces and your costumes! Consider sharing pictures taken while out on the hunt on our social media and with our yearbook staff. Pictures can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
Let’s share this experience, support our school and be united in this activity while staying apart for safety. Registration available with MySchoolBucks (https://www.myschoolbucks.com/) -or- register here https://secure.lglforms.com/form.../s/bkg9ZYJsXfSW7jJTSnK4FQ
LIFETOUCH PICTURES RETAKE DAY
Picture Proofs & Picture Packages are in! You can come to Sterling and pick up your proofs or ordered picture package next Wednesday, Thursday or Friday between 9am-3:30pm in the Main Office, and Elaine will help you. Please be sure to bring your mask! If you have any questions, contact Laura Chintapalli, email@example.com.
Retakes of Students & Staff is scheduled for Thursday, November 12th. If your student was absent for the previous Individual Picture Days or is in need of retakes, please plan to have this done on this day. These pictures will be used in the Yearbook!
Schedule an Appointment: https://booknow.appointment-plus.com/cxhkghhs/ (Everyone must have an appointment, walk-ins not permitted)
If a portrait package was purchased & a retake is requested, this picture package must be given to the photographer on 11/12 for the retake. It is very helpful for the retake photographer to receive a note with the picture package explaining what changes are needed. Like with Fall Picture Days, families need to place their online order before Retake Day if their student is getting a picture taken for the first time. These orders need to be placed before the end of the day on 11/12 for orders to be shipped to the school. Orders placed after this time, will be shipped to your home for a fee.
