STERLING’S PLANS FOR REOPENING
Thank you for providing important feedback in our Family & Student Support Survey. If you haven’t done so, please be sure to take the time to complete the survey which will close on Monday. Your input is important to us.
Given the news from Governor Roy Cooper and the Wake County Board on the reopening of schools to begin October 5th, we understand many are curious as to our next steps. Over the summer, a great deal of thought and planning went into our move to Remote Learning (Plan C). A transition back to in-class instruction will require the same effort and thoughtfulness. We are currently preparing our plans and considering a return date to offer an option for in-class instruction. We will keep our community updated on these plans as they solidify, as your trust and partnership is important to us. Meanwhile, our teachers and staff are continuing to work incredibly hard and remain focused on the best for the students.
Thanks,
Josie Spreher
Executive Director

COVID EDUCATION
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is launching a new statewide public campaign, called “Whatever Your Reason” in English and “Cualquiera Que Sea Tu Razón” in Spanish, to encourage every North Carolinian to wear a mask in our collective fight against COVID-19. This distinctly North Carolina campaign features real North Carolina people and places and focuses on the personal reasons North Carolinians across the state are choosing, every day, to do their part to stop the spread of COVID-19. The first campaign television commercial, called “Whatever Your Reason, Get Behind the Mask”, hit airways last Thursday, September 3rd and is available for download. |

SUE ANN WRIGHT
This is Sue Ann's 14th year here at Sterling. She began our music program with a handful of students and built it to include Sterling Stars, Upper Elementary Chorus, Advanced, Sterling, and Beginning band, as well as general music for all our students. She pours energy and excitement into our music program, and she loves to see the students light up with joy when they experience making music. |
We wish our families Shanah Tovah to those celebrating Rosh Hashanah this weekend. Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year festival, held on the first day of Tishri (in September) and marked by the blowing of the shofar, and begins the ten days of penitence culminating in Yom Kippur. It is both a time of rejoicing and of serious introspection, a time to celebrate the completion of another year while also taking stock of one’s life.
