Please join PFA and the Community for Gardening Week to keep our campus looking beautiful! Volunteers can sign up for time slots at specified gardens from Monday, October 12th through Sunday, October 18th at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B094BACA82CABFD0-gardening.

If you can’t make it at the specified times, you can review the desired donations and consider purchasing a requested item. If you arrive for your designated time, and your task has been completed, there will be a list of additional tasks taped to the main office door. Feel free to contact nicolemkumar@gmail.com with any questions. Happy weeding and planting!

STERLING’S FACULTY SPOTLIGHT

image10.jpg

Denise Tucker - Middle School Associate Teacher

Denise grew up in the projects of New York City and struggled early in life.  Circumstances forced her to delay her education, but she discovered education has no age limit. She became determined to turn her circumstances around by enrolling in College of New Rochelle, first to earn her GED, and ultimately to complete her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.  She was the very first to graduate college on both her mother’s and father’s side, and she became a role model for other family members in their own pursuit of education.

Denise has had many life experiences and never meets a person with whom she can’t share a story. She understands the power of shared experiences and that you never know when your own story will resonate with others.  She also knows that her continued pursuit of education at Mary Baldwin College for her Master’s degree in Special Education helped guide her own moral compass and laid her path that led her to our wonderful school.  She is ready to share that wisdom with each and every student and community member she meets. Denise is so happy to be here at Sterling, working with her phenomenal Middle School team and the faculty at large.
